Candlelight Vigil Draws More Than 100 Participants.

More than one hundred people came out for a Candlelight Vigil to Support Our

Neighbors on Saturday, January 3, 2026 in Hackley Park in front of the nativity

scene. The nativity scene reminds us that even in biblical times people moved

from one land to another, and the Torah and Bible are both full of references to

caring for our neighbors even if they are newcomers. People then walked a half

a block to St. Paul's Episcopal Church across from the park, where several

speakers explained their connections to immigrants, both family and friends.

45th Annual Muskegon CROP Walk a Great Success

We are pleased to report that more than 135 people came out on Sunday,

October 5, 2025 to support people around the world who must walk to get daily

food and/or water. As of this issue of BRANCHES, we have raised more than

$27,000 through the work of participants from 18 congregations and generous

donations from the community.

Locally our efforts benefit four agencies: the pantry at Fruitport Christian

Reformed Church, the pantry and feeding programs at The Hope Project, the

Healthy Choice Pantry at Mission for Area People, and the Saturday Breakfast

and the Saturday Breakfast Garden at First Congregational Church, U.C.C.

Is your congregation involved? If not, and you’d like to learn more,

contact muskegoncropwalk@gmail.com. Huge thanks to our community

sponsors: Acorn Marketing, Lamar Outdoor Advertising, Preferred Auto
